The "Momi" Kanji in Momiji means "Deep red" or "Maple," so you might have found pictures of Maple leafs, since I think the reading for "Ji" can be leaf too. (Though the actually word is "ha," ne?)

"Kuro" is the noun form of "black" and "kuroi" is the adjective form.
